What's this site all about then? Well, if you spent your teenage years in and around RAF Wyton, St Ives, or the Hemingfords, then this site is dedicated to you. It's all about those far off days when we under went our rite of passage. The transition from adolescence into adult society. Every generation goes through this process, but in the sixties the world was changing too.

It could be said with some justification that the prosecution of Penguin books in the autumn of 1960 precipitated the burgeoning permissive society. Mary Whitehouse campaigned tirelessly against liberal ideas, but society had moved on. It was during our teenage years that the economy boomed. Britian lead the world in, design, and musical inovation: Mini skirt, Mini car, The Beatles

The sixties were both dynamic and fun, and I for one am very glad that I was part of it. It has been said of the sixties that if you can remember them, then you were never there. Well I remember the sixties with great clarity. The sixties also had a darker side. The war in Vietnam for instance and the Aberfan tragedy. This is one aspect of life that sadly never seems to change.
